Each season will focus on a specific creative concept: the theme for season one is "Independant and student film" - looking back retrospectively on the evolution of film studies, as well as seeing how both geurilla and independant filmmakers handle their craft. As the premise in the teaser suggests, no topic will outstay its welcome. Once we're done, we will move to another subject matter and hold with it for another season.

We've got a little deeper this time around into the world of student life in Boston. Student filmmaker Nick Briggs speaks up after 12 years to reveal all those thoughts about Dave and Stephen. Stephen discovers that his personality had gone through many battles; through arrogance, outspoken frustration, and a yearning to get student films made. Nobody got in his way, but thank goodness, he grew out of his arrogance into civility.

This episode explores the use of character actors. Bringing about that larger than life portrayal. There is also a focus once again on location hunting and the difficulties you can have when locals interrupt film shoots.

Okay, so we had it easy for that first episode, now it is time for us to do some of the work! For this episode we are looking back at our student film "The Endurance" which really is a very rough omage to the genre of war movies in general. Our scope and brief fulfilled, we really had high hopes for this one to be a drama following the life of one soldier who simply didn't belong and didn't know why he was there. We were thankfully allowed to incorperate a few pieces of "stock footage" from several movies of the same genre to provide mood that we attempted to match.

This episode explores lessons learnt from that student film tying in with part 2 of the interview with Charles Hinton and his associate Michael Ruth who cover the subject of how media/film students work with actors, with good common sense suggestions along the way that we might not neccessarily have thought about when we were students.
